The new RoadCover HQ signage in Randburg stands as a landmark of the brand’s rising prominence across Johannesburg — with one clear mission: to make sure South Africans know the name before they need it.

Johannesburg, South Africa – 26 August 2026 – Motorists travelling through Randburg have a new landmark lighting up their commute. The newly unveiled RoadCover HQ signage now dominates the façade of a prominent building on a busy Randburg route just down the road from the Randburg Magistrates’ Court.

The installation is part of RoadCover’s growing visibility strategy as the South African road accident claims leader works to become a name motorists recognise before they ever need its services.

Over the past year, the company has expanded its presence across Johannesburg, with branding on Sandton Drive, a growing fleet of branded vehicles, champion cycling teams racing in RoadCover colours and electronic billboards on e-hailing vehicles.

The Randburg landmark is the latest addition.

RoadCover CEO Amanda Rogaly says the company wants South Africans to understand their rights and know where to turn before they are faced with the aftermath of a road accident.

“We want RoadCover to become a name South Africans recognise before they ever need us. After an accident, when someone may be injured, traumatised or dealing with a family crisis, that is not the time they should have to start figuring out the Road Accident Fund, what they may be entitled to claim, what documentation is required or how to navigate the process.”

RoadCover manages qualifying Road Accident Fund claims on behalf of its members from start to finish, with no legal fees or expenses deducted from a successful claimant’s settlement. Claimants therefore receive 100% of their RAF settlement.

“There are still far too many South Africans who don’t understand their rights following a road accident,” says Rogaly. “If people don’t know we exist, we can’t educate them about those rights or show them that there is a different way to navigate an RAF claim.”

RoadCover’s visibility strategy extends beyond traditional advertising. Its Sandton Drive branding puts the company in front of motorists travelling through one of Johannesburg’s busiest commercial areas, while its branded fleet takes the name onto the city’s streets.

The company has also invested in competitive cycling sponsorship and electronic billboard advertising on e-hailing vehicles, allowing the brand to connect with people while they are on the move.

“There is a very simple thread connecting everything we are doing,” says Rogaly. “RoadCover exists because of what happens on South African roads, so it makes sense that this is where our brand should be seen.”

Although the illuminated RoadCover HQ sign now sits prominently above the Randburg property, the building is a brand landmark rather than the company’s operational headquarters.

The use of “HQ” reflects the scale and momentum of RoadCover’s growth, while its location near the Randburg Magistrates’ Court reinforces the company’s focus on road users’ legal rights.

“For us, this building is a statement,” says Rogaly. “It says RoadCover is here, we are growing and we intend to make sure more South Africans understand who we are and what we do.”

For RoadCover, the objective is not simply greater brand recognition but ensuring that motorists know the name before they find themselves needing help.

Previously operating as the highly regarded FlyCool Collective Cycling Team, the squad has established a strong reputation within South African cycling circles and boasts an impressive roster of riders, including internationally recognised professionals Ryan Gibbons and Kent Main.

The transition to Team RoadCover DMS, will see the existing foundation, talent, and cycling culture of FlyCool Collective strengthened through enhanced investment, broader community engagement, road safety initiatives, and increased support for riders both on and off the bike.

RoadCover has long stood alongside victims, including cyclists, of road accidents helping thousands of South Africans navigate the Road Accident Fund process and secure the compensation to which they are legally entitled. South Africans Deserve the Truth: The RAF Does Deliver – When You Know How to Use It

The Road Accident Fund (RAF) has recently joined a host of other state-owned entities receiving negative press. It’s understandable, then, that South Africans would lose their faith in the organisation. However, the reality is that the RAF has helped hundreds of thousands of South Africans recover both physically and emotionally after traumatic road accidents, and it continues to do so.

Given the number of recent articles detailing the Fund’s shortcomings, including failing to pay certain claims, along with news of the suspension of several key senior personnel, it is potentially easy to write off the RAF as another organisation that has succumbed to corruption.

Nonetheless, the RAF remains an extremely important body. Consider that there are around 15 000 reported motor vehicle accidents on South African roads each year. In fact, more than 1 502 people died in road accidents during the 2024-2025 festive season alone. Alarmingly, South Africa has one of the highest road fatality rates globally, according to the 2025 Status Report on Road Safety. South Africans are four times more likely to die in traffic accidents than the global average: there are 24.5 fatal accidents per 100 000 people, compared to 6.3 per 100 000 people globally. Sadly, given the poor state of our roads and lawless drivers, even careful drivers are at risk of making mistakes. This highlights the need for protection against the eventuality of a life changing accident.

The RAF provides such protection, compensating all individuals who have been physically or psychologically injured in an accident involving a motor vehicle and victims of hit and run drivers. The fund also makes provision for people who have lost loved ones in an accident. Approximately R45.6 billion in claims was paid during the 2023-2024 financial year.

If your claim for injury is successful, the Fund will reimburse all accident-related medical expenses, past and future loss of earnings, general damages and loss of support (resulting from loss of income), as well as funeral expenses (in the case of loss of life).

In this way, the RAF protects victims against the potential financial fallout of, say, losing a job, or even the financial impact of having to pay for costly medical procedures or rehabilitation. It is therefore a critical social safety net for all South Africans.

Viewed in this light, it is clear that we cannot disregard the RAF and its importance in South Africa’s welfare, economy and development. The problem, however, is that for the average South African road user, it is not an easy process either to lodge a claim, or to have that claim settled.

Understanding the Challenge

Many people who have tried to claim funds from the RAF independently complain that it is a lengthy, expensive and complicated process with high level and detailed paperwork required, and that when finally settled, the compensation is too low to make much of a difference in their lives. What’s more, providing the requisite documentation is an arduous, time consuming process, involving obtaining very costly legal and medical advice. All of this can be exceptionally taxing, especially since claimants are, usually, traumatised after an accident, with little mental or physical energy to spare for these tasks.

Why the Right Support Matters

That’s why it makes sense to partner with an entity that specialises in RAF claims.
